I have to take mine back there when it's a little cooler, they had to dyno it when it was 100 degrees out and the numbers were lower they said because of that. It definitely moves better.

I second the trans cooler as cheap insurance. I am also running the 24000 gvw, mounts real nice in the front of the car, unlike my old ls1 which we ended up mounting in a weird place.

        I'm curious, what's everyone's Trans temp running at? I'm at 175 to 180.

My 4l with a 3600 FTI converter has been running 185-195 around town in this heat with the converter unlocked.. with the converter locked I run right at 180...

Back in the old 4th gen days, we generally avoided making passes if the trans temps were 200F+. Your cruising temps might be 180F, but I notice that even stock mine will get to 200-205F just after hitting it once or twice on the highway to pass folks.

Do you guys have custom-made kits or did you buy the ADM or? The one with or without a fan?

Also, I was researching trans coolers on some forums, mostly camaro5, and while I'm clear on most of the install I'm not clear on how the lines get routed. I'm thinking the ADM kit just ties into the factory lines and then bypasses the radiator? If that's the case and I didn't have to fabricate custom braided lines and attach them to the top of the trans, then it's a mod I'd probably do myself or with a buddy.

I had custom bradded hoses from the cooler bypassing the radiator and attaching to the steel lines. I was running a B&M super cooler with a fan, however the Trans shop said it was not sufficient.
