If G, or anyone else, wants to see the nuts and bolts of what goes into a tune, our own Pro Stock John has a great thread "over there" asking questions, and getting some great answers, regarding this very fact.

    L99 Tuning? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums - Camaro5.com

    T.
The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my Track next fix.

I was over at Speed Inc today, and long time friend Jim who is the Tuner there took some time to show me all the parameters he ends up changing for an L99. It's quite a few actually. Gave me a better understanding of it all.

Jim really is awesome. I really would like to learn how to tune cars in general. I would pay to be able to take class for that.

What is his experience with tune with stall converters in the L99?

What issues are you experiencing with your trans?

So I understand they tuned your car with a stall converter in it? Which converter do you have?

Thanks for your help and input.
I am waiting for the complete outcome and how its handled to be fair to all involved. I have had a progressive problem since having some work done and finally to the point that I have been unable to drive my car completly for 2 months now due to this situation other than basically coasting in a parade on the 4th. I will share soon what is exactly going on and why. I have just been educating myself through the process so I am not here ever again. I have heard quite a bit through my investigating some true and some not as I am finding out. I am also learning first hand who knows what about this car in our area and who does not. As I said as soon as its all sorted I will let you know specifics of my problem.

Oh yeah, what time? I'm picking my car up on Thursday.

Garrett you might want to stop by there sometime and talk to Jim. We actually talked about your plight today. Again FWIW I strongly feel that you should pick up a trans cooler for your combo, and any shop telling you not to do one should rethink that stance. Spending $300 in trans cooler parts could help a 6L80E live longer.

I had Speed Inc. do a throttle body to match my fast intake and Yank 3200 stall the begining of July and it runs great. I talked to a few people before doing it and I also had them install a trans cooler, they definitely know what they are doing. I am sorry to hear about your problem Garrett and hope you get everything resolved.

Gotcha, I'll find out our plan and let you know.

KYSMYSS, what trans cooler did you do? Good for you, in the old days we never did a lot of work to an LS car without doing a transcooler. I ran some 28,000 GVW stuff like B&M.

The trans cooler is a B&M 24000 GVW, some people said I didn't need it but I think it's a good idea to do. Cheap insurance I was told.

I'll have to ask the Speed Inc. guys about your trans cooler, I definitely want to get one. I'm picking up my car in the early afternoon so I guess I won't be able to check your blown beast on the dyno. But you'll see my gray slow car there.
