  • My new mod

Just got a set of Kooks stepped headers and cats. They are Jet Coated in silver and almost look like polished stainless. I was going to do the install but just don't have the spare time. Tbone recommended Supercar Performance in Minooka, so I went and talked to Scott over there tonight. Going to schedule installation next week. I will let everyone know how it goes.

Only came out within the past few months they are supposed to give you a little extra HP compared to regular headers.

Once those are installed give Komet Motorsports in St. Charles a call for your Tune. They are having an open house this weekend.

                T.
The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my Track next fix.

Supercar Performance recommended Finish Line in Naperville because he deals with them a lot. My choice is Straightline because they do work for Bill Kay's where I bought my car. I don't know, have to mull this one over.

My understanding is the design has been around and in use for a long time. Kooks recently implemented the design. I'll let you know what my final numbers are. Installing just the Kooks and cats this round.

Will you have a before and after? Or just an after?

Those the Doug Thorley's right? I tried emailing them to see if they are the same or different from the G8 to the Camaro.

The picture on there website is identical. The part number is one number off. Since they both are based off the Zeta platform I can't see them being different.

This was weeks ago and still no answer from them.

Finish Line would be my second choice, behind Komet for a tune, or SCP for engine work. Another very good shop. Others on here, ask Bubbles or BlueChargedSS, have used them and are very happy with them.

Timing is an issue for me. Depending on whether I can get a before done this weekend, if not guess just the after. I really want the before/after but the tuner won't be doing the header install so it makes it a pain driving around.
