Do you have any idea what you did to me and Plesha now?? He probably has his install scheduled and I'm getting a quote. Thanks a lot Priz.

Hell.. I'm the one with the high 11 to defend...

I'm going to their open house this coming weekend myself... Maybe I'll end up in the waiting list as well..

I know, that was an expensive trip for Mike to take me to pickup my car. I tried to get him out of there as fast as I could, but I did have to leave him with the mechanic un-attended for 10 minutes while I completed the paper work. I am sure that wasn't a good thing to do with a recovering mod-aholic.

You pretty much hit the nail on the head....just waiting on Comp to grind my cam on a 3 bolt core.

Talking to Kevin for me was key, the guy flat out knows his shit.....He had all the right answers to all my questions. I normally do not want anyone else wrenching on my car, but I would trust this guy without a doubt.

Mike's auto trans sucks up more power than the M6....so his rwhp numbers are always going to be lower.

DO IT! Maybe if we get enough of us together we can get a sweet deal.

That was my guess, I didn't realize it was that much of a difference.

                            500 mile review

Just passed 500 miles since the can swap. Here are some of my impressions.

-it's loud as hell at start up, and the idle shakes the whole car.

-when cruising it drives pretty close to stock

-the removal of afm I great, no more fart can sound.

-the car shifts a lot firmer from the tune, it's noticeably different than stock.

-it's takes a moment for the power to kick in, a stall is definitely needed to get the power quicker to the wheels, but at 3k and above hold on, it pulls like a mad man.

-mpg fell from 19.5 to 17. I have about 60% highway driving.

-my wife is still afraid to drive it, but the kids absolutely love it!

If you're on the fence for a cam, go see the guys at libertyville. It turns the car into something completely different and better, and those guys know what they're doing.

Nice to hear it's running well. I was curious how bad a cam would kill the mileage, doesn't seem to bad though.

For those who live south and don't want to travel up way up north, Bill Kay's in Lisle also does performance work. I just talked at length with George the service director about mods for my car. He is a Master Certified Corvette Specialist and has been doing this for 41 years. He sits on the board for GM as well and was lucky enough to recently get a ride in a ZL1. (says he selling one of his garage queens and getting the ZL1 through his connections.) Guy knows his stuff. Turns out he's friends with all the guys at Libertyville and claims he got that dealer into doing performance work. This is not meant to be a one dealer is better than the other, only that we have another dealer in the area that is fully capable of doing good work and know our cars.

Bill Kay has 5 certified Corvette specialists. They work with Straightline in New Lenox for doing their tunes. Libertyville now uses Straightline as well as Speedinc. George told me that if I have work done with him, since they know the car and what was done, I would be taken care of for any issue with the powertrain. Caveat... I talked about a SC and my desire to get 500 RWHP, come to find out the Camaro is good for 450 HP on the rear end. So obviously if I do something like buy wider wheels and lock up the rear end and it breaks, my tough luck.

I will be holding off until spring to have motor work done though. No point in doing it now only to put in away in the garage for the winter. Taking the car to Showstopper next week to replace my stripes with real paint. Can't wait.

Damn, wish I would have known that, I work 5 minutes from them and normally take my cars to them. However, working with the libertyville guys was great and they'll get my future mods due to the great work they did.
