Although it is on my wish list and I have the height for one in my garage. My neighbor has one with his vette under it and his wifes on it in a two car garage. I am sure if I got one there would be a lot of mod parties over here.

You buy the lift, we'll supply the Pizza and beverages! LOL

In oaklawn you cant have one. I wanted to rebuild mine to add a lift they wouldnt issue the permit for it. Their is a guy local that is in court battle for his. He got a permit than built a garage and added a lift. Now the city wants him to take down his garage and take out the lift. They stated they made a mistake issuing a permit. The garage is to high they stated.

I knew a guy back in 2006 that had a lift in his garage here in Chicago. He lived not too far from me over on Western.. I even swapped out my exhaust on the GTO on that lift.

There are a LOT of different home-style lifts -- I cannot imagine any town has banned all the options. Seems absurd. Then again, in a state that raises taxes in a depression, nothing surprises me.

            Here are some options:
Vehicle 4-Post Lift - Greg Smith Equipment Sales, Inc

            high lift garage door conversion:
            High Lift Garage Door Conversion

I see them in expensive homes in the northern suburbs by the lake. Usually with high end sports cars on them.

It's Illinois. I'm not even from this state and it doesn't surprise me. Everything about this state's Government is corrupt. Just as seeing Texas "re writing" Science books doesn't surprise me in the least.

Thanks a lot!!! Now you have me looking at lifts again. **Must resist the urge***

Of course I would have to High Lift the garage door with a jack shaft garage door opener, more expense. **Must resist the URGE***

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my Track next fix.

I just ordered my XS Power exhaust and LT headers! it was a great deal too, can't wait. I'm gonna install it with my brother and his buddy at the shop he works at, but if you guys find a place for the mod party, that'd be fun too!

If someone had one for tech session installs for group meets and/or renting out time, that would be cool. Heck, someone want to do a tech session on setting up a high-lift garage door and lift installation?

We have a 4-post lift in our garage. My dad had it put in when we had our house remodeled. He went about 2 feet into the attic (not raising the overall height of the garage) so 2 cars could actually fit in there. I used it to install my catback and headers, I couldn't imagine doing it without one haha. Next time i"m home I'll take a picture for those interested.

Cool -- did he have to buy a commercial garage door opener? I assume this was a high-lift garage door setup?

                            Pictures would be awesome.

Its Super Bowl Sunday 2015. Even though we're having a blizzard here today. Posts are slow so I started wondering, what has anyone done this winter to get ready for spring? So I dug out this old post and thought I would bring it up again.

So far this winter (2014-15), Here are a couple things I've bought, added, or will install by spring. Already shared the paint work in a different post. Aside from that I picked up some BMR suspension parts the same as the Summit catalog pics below. I bought the parts from Summit Racing.

A QA1 Strut Tower Brace, . Its model 52362 if you want to look it up.

                              Thanks.
