I know roto fab is liked by many. It gives you that nice little boost with better sound. It is even better once you tune it. Alot of members here like it.

As far as the spreadsheet I posted, it doesn't indicate anywhere on it that it's a V8 sheet, however....it was found in the V8 section of C5. On the other hand, the spreadsheet you posted clearly indicates in the upper LH corner that it is a V6 test.
Dyno numbers don't mean a damn thing....they ALL read different. They are excellent for tuning, and showing gains of mods...but only if a baseline is made before and mods are done.
What your missing is actually owning one of these cars, and having knowledge beyond what you read on other car forums.

Outside of the Vararam and New Era's...I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

The chart you posted:
JRE CAI TEST.xlsx
Shows that Fastlane is hands-down the best performer in both average and peak HP and torque (but needs a tune) -- Roto-Fab is nowhere close...
AV HP GAIN AV TORQUE GAIN PEAK HP GAIN PEAK TQ GAIN
Rotofab -0.8 4.8 5.4 7.5
Fastlane 9.9 11.4 15.9 10.6

Roto-Fab has worked for me...again...I actually own one of these cars, and baselined my car BONE STOCK then put it back on the exact same dyno after I put on the Roto-Fab & Long Tubes. Then took it back again to the same dyno after the cam.
So yes, I guess your statements ( no wait, once again it's not your statements..last time it was Strano's ) carry far more weight than someone who has the car & the intake and the dyno sheets to back it up.
Isn't there a 4th gen forum you can go troll on?

Nobody is trolling at all. For the record, the OP originally privately messaged me first about the *SLP CAI*. Nobody answered the OPs original question for the SLP unit yet, BTW. I found the SLP results, they are HERE (This looks like the most comprehensive one I have seen yet):
JANNETTY RACING V8 CAI TEST PART 2 RESULTS - 2011 Camaro Z28 Camaro Forum / Camaro Z28 SS Forums - Camaro5.com
If I was the OP, I would want to see all the numbers before plunking down the $. The OP may want to do exhaust/headers/CAI all at once, and then a tune...
Originally posted by huggerorange73 View PostYup....you got me. Again....follow along here. I'll try and talk to you real slow so you get it. OP doesn't want a CAI that requires a tune...and I can understand why, a dyno tune can run around $400 on top of a CAI.

Again, three cars on here have the Roto-Fab all tuned, one with headers...clearly these numbers should be tossed out the window in favor of these spreadsheets.
Why in the world would the OP be inquiring to a fourth gen owner about a CAI for a fith gen car when there are multiple sponsers and sources on here that actually have a 5thgen with a CAI????
I bow to your knowledge Yoda

The methodology would be pretty similar on cars whether stock, or with headers and tune, so comparisons like Janetty Racing did is valid for the CAI by itself, and the approach would be valid for the same car tested with headers/tune and all these CAIs.
The OP asked about *just* the SLP CAI, and judging the CAI apart from anything else, JR's tests shows how it stands. If JR did tests with other mods, it would be additive, and you would get a view of a package's performance.
I have not seen anyone else do the kind of testing JR has with this big variety of CAIs as a package with headers and a tune, have you?
I don't know about anyone else, but I would put more weight on these measurable, repeatable results, than opinions. I doubt anyone here with a particular CAI has done the 21 CAI variations testing with their headers/tune to come to the best decision?
You don't have to have the car to interpret the above results.

OP, I didn't test 21 different CAI systems on my car....clearly Mr. Liberty has all the answers it seems.
All I can offer up to you is these real world RESULTS, not opinions.
Baseline dyno pull on a mustang dyno of my LS3 SS : 390 rwhp / 368 rwtq
Roto-Fab CAI & Kooks longtubes on same dyno untuned : 422 rwhp / 406 rwtq
Comp Cam plus above mods on same dyno : 470 rwhp / 423 rwtq
So with these mods on a LS3 SS : Roto-Fab CAI, Kook's 1 7/8 longtube headers and hi flow cats, factory exhaust with SLP LM II mufflers and a comp cams .571/.590 228/240 on a 113 LSA you can expect to gain 80 rwhp and 55 rwtq. I've got all the dyno sheets for every step of the way, and you're more than welcome to take a ride in the car as well. Of course it sure as hell seems like I have no clue what the hell I'm doing under the hood of a car though....
Now as far as opinions go, I can tell you this. The Roto-Fab kit is high quality, fits like a glove and is fairly priced. It clearly performs well for me in my application. Again, you're more than welcome to check out my set up anytime you'd like.

Don't trust what hugger has to say, he clearly has no sound judgement or analytical skills. Look at his signature pic, there's a white sox logo looming, proof of his bad judgement!
I think to sum up what he's trying to say though (read in between the pissing match) is several members have the roto-fab and swear by it. No one has the blackwing and we haven't seen trusted results of the blackwing.
You should also see how ironfall likes his Cold Air Inductions CAI. He'll be adding that soon.
