Yes, 100% of the rasp is gone. All nice, deep tones now. jbruno88 was following me home from c'fest for me to work on his halos and he said it sounded great. Only things gone now that I miss is the decel pop and some volume. Maybe a test pipe will bring some of that back.

Thanks to Nickey for header install and Top Notch Auto in Crystal Lake for welding up the X-Pipe and putting in some O2-sensor spacers to kill the CEL's without a tune!

Did the spacers actually eliminate the CEL or just reduce its frequency?

No CEL yet. Spacer install was Monday afternoon.

I'll be amazed if you don't pull a CEL. Many have said they even do the O2 extensions and spacers and still get CEL.

My guy told me that he did a car with no cats at all and no cel came up.

Tony, thanks for allowing us the opportunity to work on our very first V6 Camaro here at the NicKey shop. It was a learning experience.

Nice! I'm actually headed over to Nickey's in about 3 hours to drop off my SS. Woot!

I would love to hear a longer sound clip to hear this properly, or in person would be best…

All of the aftermarket exhaust changes to 5th Gen V6s seem to have this same signature import-like trombone horn sound. Are there no systems that bring a deep tone like the Borla Adjustable cat-back does on the 4th Gens?

The Borla is what I have on my RS 4th Gen, and it has none of that horn-like sound and is often mistaken for a V8. I ask the question since I know if I get a 5th Gen V6 as a DD, I will want to upgrade exhaust -- IF I can find a good sounding one, which seems elusive so far. I will have to record some audio of mine for comparison to post.

Has anyone tried the 4th Gen Borla mufflers on a 5th Gen? I know Borla has 5th Gen specific V6 exhausts, how are they? Is this horn sound just not able to be tuned-out due to the way the engine works?

No disrespect intended, btw, if you like the sound, that's all that matters!

I really like the sound of my exhaust compared to other v6 exhausts. Im running Pypes cTback, and soon Doug Thorley shorties. So Im hoping it sounds really nice after the headers. One of these days Ill post a sound clip.

I really like the Flowmaster American Thunder sound on a V6. It sounds like an old school rumble. Just my 2 cents.
