  • Engine Light after CAI

So I installed K&N CAI and MRT Ver 2.0 and got engine light right after install. We cleared it. Then came back on 2 days later. Did a fuse pull over night, that didn't work. Had it cleared again friday and it came back on in a couple hours. I haven't pulled the battery negative, does this help to relearn new mods?

You did the fuse pull? Try it one more time. Need to drive your car 3 days or at least 3 full cycles from what I have read on the mods. If that doesn't work try the total reset by disconnecting the battery for 10 min.

Wow, I wonder what its reading to throw a CEL with a CAI? Especailly a regular cone and pipe design.

I don't think the fuse pull will work. Your cai is throwing off codes in the car. You either have to tell the dealer to turn off the warning lights or get a tune to make them go away. I know the dealer can turn off the warning lights because the same thing happened when I put 22's on my escalade and the car couldn't read the tire pressures.

I got this from Scrming on other forum.

How does the car run? Does it run rough?

Do you happen to know what code it was throwing?

Double check everything and make sure every thing is good and tight... double check that the PCV is hooked up... MAF plugged in... I know it seems like the simple stuff, but we've all front some thing at one point or another....

Car runs great, as for codes, I did that Onstar thing while driving, they said it was something that will effect performance and should have it looked at within 7 days.
I didn't catch what code he said. I've checked everything and it all seems tight and ready.
Like I said the power is there, runs and sounds like a monster. The fuse pull I did was 5/20.
I'm gonna see if light goes away by tuesday and try the battery pull then if light still on.

Funny thing though, if I do exactly 35 miles a hour, there is no engine light?!

Sorry, that was a joke. at 35 miles an hour the speedometer needle hides the light.
