  • V6 LLT Ported Intake/Throttle Body Install

Today, I decided to remove my intake and throttle body to fit the new ones I received from Tracy at RX Performance. Here are some of my findings... and I was completely shocked to see this much oil build up.

I've also installed the new ported intake and ported throttle body as well as my dual valve catch can. The catch can is permanent, but the intake and throttle body will be coming off shortly to get powder coated. Just wanted to see how much of a difference there is in throttle response. I suggest to anyone with a spare $150.00 to pick up one of the catch cans. Its a simple install. Took 30 minutes and it will save the intake from oil build up.

Once I get the parts back from powder coating, I'll be port matching the manifold to the intake. That should be a fun project and well worth the time that it will take.

J & J Powder coating in Zion, IL. They did my wheels and I've got nothing but good things to say about the guys up there.

You have more pooled than I did. You have more miles on your car though.

Yea the oil was pretty bad. I knew these motors were notorious for sucking oil but I had no idea it would be this bad.

On a side note i can't wait to do my port matching over the next few weekends!!!

I'll be running this setup the next time at the track. I don't expect to beat my personal best because the air won't be as good as it was in November, and these mods won't net me much gains in the 1/4. The 3.91 rear end is really what I'm looking forward to. That mod alone should net me half a second.

The RX Performance dual valve catch can, because I have plans on doing a supercharger. If you don't plan on going forced induction the single valve is all you need.

I'll most likely be going with the IPF supercharger unless over the next month or two the top mounted supercharger from RX that was just released is proven better.
