I know there are plenty of post regarding CAI's. I have a 2012 V6 and am thinking of adding a CAI. Looking for suggestions on best one to get and best place to get it. Also I am not very mechanical al all so what does it take to install one.

    thanks

There's only a few available for the '12 so far. Injen, Rotofab and CAI have their's out, vararam is coming but not ready yet... If the 2010 and 2011 are any indication, the Vararam has the most gains, the others are quite similar

I also have a 2012 V6. I am absolutely waiting for the Vararam system to hit the market. I was told the it would be out sometime in June. Wait for it!

The CAI won't be too shabby if it performs like the older one.

Fast list says cai had the most gains, but varam is catching up!

Thanks man. I heard about the check engine light issues also that was mentioned in that link but it seems like the v6's have been ok. I'll research the v6 k&n intake some more as a intake will be my next purchase after wheels this week. I'll probably end up with the CAI brand though..

actually, the V6 has had more CEL problems than the V8, from what I have seen. But beyond the CEL issues, the K&N just hasn't proven that it has gains comparable with the other mfg's

Thanks for the info. Leaning towards the CAI anyway or another brand.

i installed a k&n on my car, with no issues at all. cost about $250.00 at jeggs. its new for your v6 if you have LFX motor. remember to disc. neg batt cable b 4 install. when finished w/install reconnect neg cable, start car and enable ECU to learn how to breathe more AIR take it for a ride, learns faster, about 5/10 miles or so. if its automatic trans or has trak control take it out of trak. slam on it from dead stop, you will definitly experence increase in HP/TORK i love the gains this setup produces, you will see a big difference, good luck !!!!

I have a SLP CAI and I really like it. It's reasonably priced at $200 directly from SLP. Installing it in not hard at all, and you are close I could help you I have all the tools that you need.
