  • Exhaust and Headers?

So for my next performance mods I was thinking about doing my exhaust and headers. My question though, is it worth it? I've been looking at some Cat Back systems and they are pretty pricey (been seeing around $1,200-$1,500) Are the gains actually worth the money in this case? If yes I would love to hear some suggestions on what brand or system to go with from personal experience etc.. Or a place that I can get hooked up with a good price. It will be for a V6 for those of you that don't know what I have.

Shorty headers on the 6 will get you some gains, long tubes more, though you would need a tune for long tubes. The rest of the exhaust won't net too much power, but weight savings and improved sound.

Cat back on the 6 is not worth 1500. Spend 500 on an axel back instead, or put 1500 in the ss fund.

I mean overall I would love to have a more aggressive sound, just wondering about the gains though and if they are noticeable. Altma, how do the Pypes sound? Same thing to you Kilowatt, how big of a difference was there from stock sound to the "new" sound?

I have BBK Stainless longtubes, followed by a Corsa 2.5 stainless catback with X pipe on my V6...

You don't want to know the cost....but it insanely wicked.

Are there any adjustable catbacks or axle backs for the 5th Gen V6, not unlike the Borla adjustable catback on the 4th Gens? I haven't seen any...

This is the one I'm referring to, with the adjustable plates (right side), or you can put an electronic valve in there to control it from the driver seat:
