FWIW, looks like Tracy is selling his supercharger kit (around 400 HP) for just under $7k installed. For me, that is $3k less than an SS would have been.

Isn't the other super charger kit cheaper? How much do you think it would just for installation?

yeah, this thing looks promising. We'll see when someone buys the kit and puts down the numbers.

But the torque was 318, that's at or lower than stock ss. I looked at the numbers to turbo a 6 before getting the SS, and if you're basing just on economics SS is going to be cheaper. 2lt starts at $28k, 2ss starts at $35, $7k difference before rebates and discounts. Usually bigger rebates on the SS, so out the door same trims are probably going to be less than 7k. And for those of us that bought early in the 2010's when dealers didn't deal, you may pay even less of a difference. My SS ended up only being 3k more than I paid for my 6 (same trims, 2lt RS vs 2SS RS, plus a sunroof in my SS). So for my $7k I have a cammed SS. I think its always going to be tough to find where turboing or supercharging a v6 is going to be a more economical decision than going with an SS, especially with the torque difference.

Gonna have to keep an eye on the torque in this kit.

As I said, for me, the SS would have been $10k more.

I already have a V6. Not buying a V8. So if I want a faster car, this could be an option.

I put a $200.00 deposit down. I have until Feb to see if anything else comes out and get my money back if something better comes out. Feb is currently how far they are backed up on shipping.

Well I know you many of you V6 guys bought your car with daily driving and gas mileage in mind also, so I can see going this route may be a better solution for you in the long run if your just looking for a bit more speed and dont have to be the fastest car in town. LOL Or if you fell into some money that you didnt have when you made the initial purchase. And it always nice to have something extra under the hood that they dont expect when looking at you on the corner, LOL Whats the supercharger going to do to your MPG though after your done playing around with it for six months on city/highway driving. You will probably be driving a little more aggresively on a daily basis so it may defeat one of your reasoning in the initial v6 purchase, No?

Superchargers create better fuel efficiency by increasing the amount of oxygen available to an engine's internal combustion chambers. By compressing it to pressures greater than the external atmosphere, supercharges force additional air into the combustion chamber, where it is mixed with gasoline for the explosive reaction that powers the engine thus making the engine more efficient. Thus better gas mileage.

I am sure you'll figure out a way to get more torque out of it!

I hope to see someone running this kit in April at GLD so the mighty 14.02 1/4 time can finally fall.
