Well during a performance discussion a question fell: will a 2011 v6 camaro beat a mazda rx8 in a drag race? assuming they're both stock. I decided to redirect it to you guys and hope you guys have some proof so i can support the answer i am going pass onto my friends thanks.

So the 63 HP makes that little of difference? I mean i do realize that mazda rz-8 is lighter but what makes it such a competition to a car with 60 more ponies?!

weight can indeed be a large factor. I was just going off of the times that I saw online for the rx-8... really nothing better than a 14.4, more in the 14.7 range... same as Camaro

Camaro should pretty easily win. The torque of the LLT coupled with the lack of torque of the 2 rotor has a lot to do with it. You really have to wind up an RX.
