  • k&n intake question

so i've had my intake for a couple months now and was wondering if i need to have the car tuned or not?I was gonna wait till i replaced the catback but that may be later toward end of year.At times i think response is delayed from the time you step on it tillcar get moving...taking to dealer next week but was curious what anybody thinks

Nah, tuning wont really help there. There's a dead spot in acceleration below 2K rpm's

thanks,as im still gonna have dealer inspect under the hood anyway, i only have 6k on it,hell they might see something else...i read somewhere else v6 owners have had some issues so i figure send it into dealer and see.

Just be prepared for them to blame the K&N

I assume you have an auto? I think the delayed response is normal I have it too.

I have noticed the same thing, both when I had my LT and even today with my SS. I don't think the intake is the culprit though, it think that just how the car performs.

ya ,i have the automatic, paddle shifting is nice but at least now i know im not the only one, must be a v6 thing huh?Just seems at times i push the peddle down a good amount maybe 1/2 of the way or so to pass or get going and response seems behind quite a bit ..i don't know ..frustrating

I'm pretty sure the delay your talking about is the car downshifting

actually it would be to upshift as im in automatic mode and trying to give it alittle gas to get going

Its nothing to do with shifting, as far as I am aware... Just a shortcomming, hoping the cnc'ed throttle body that is coming soon will help some more. My AIRAID intake helped some

Now i've only had mine on for a week, but I feel like I have zero delays in acceleration. I hit the gas and it roars forward

That is why I was so tempted to go with AIRAID instead.
