i was originally going to go with the ZL1 shifter assembly but after doing a little more research it turned out that the ZL1 shifter is only a different stick just like the majority of the shifters out there.

So i really didn't mind the shifting on the stock shifter just wanted something a little bit smaller. I was lucky enough to come across Nick on our website here selling his LG shifter which is the exact stick i was looking for. Only has a 25% shorter throw which is plenty for me. and the shifter itself is about 1/4 inch shorter.

So it took me about 45 minutes to install, which wasnt too bad. But the shifter feels amazing. I will never miss 3rd again. It feels like this shifter wants to just go into third. It does take a little more effort now to get into gears but nothing really to complain about.

overall i am extremely happy and finally hit the 500 mile mark with my new clutch and was able to get a couple quick shifts in and i can definitely see a possibility of lowering my ET by 1 or 2 tenths. hopefully going to the track this week so we will see! Thanks again Nick!

No problem. Glad it worked out well for you.

If I ever get down to an event and you are there with your car would you mind me trying the shifter to see what it would have felt like?

Good luck with the project. Looks like a very nice car!

Yeah most definitely! If all works out I should be at GLD next Sunday to really test it out. That should be a little closer to you. Let me know if you are going. And thanks again.

sorry for the delay, i just saw this post. so from my research these are the reductions i found

FACTORY HURST = 22% shorter than stock
LG MOTORSPORT = 25% shorter than stock
Aftermarket HURST PLUS 2= 40% shorter than stock

at the time i received my car i couldn't get the factory hurst option which would have been perfect. To me the PLUS 2 shifter looks amazing, but that short of a throw will require a ton more effort and can't be that good for the geometry of the parts. So thats why i really liked the LG option being right around what the FACTORY HURST offered for a lot less and it has the polyurethane bushing to stiffen it up a little.

I will be at the track day on august 26th and september 30th so all are welcome to try it out.

Tires, wheels, and axles... oh my!

so i finally was able to pick up some parts that were well over do. Hopefully now i wont have as many problems with traction now. I really hope this helps

first off i obtained DSS 1400 HP axles. So my worries of snapping an axle have subsided.

Next up were the all too popular c6 zo6 wheel setup.

and to finish it off would be the wrapping. nitto nto5r 305/45/18 drag radials.
just a teed bit wider than the stock 275. and much more sidewall too.

so hopefully with this combo i can drop into the 1.8-.9 range for the 60ft to impact my ET better. We will see this sunday.

Well for those of you that like to track my progress, i had an unfortunate incident occur at our GLD race day yesterday.

So i got to the track, jacked me car up and swapped out my stock rims for my 18in zo6 wheels with my new Nitto Dr's, and popped the hood to let her cool off from the over hour drive up there...

as soon as i saw that the lanes were open to go i hopped into my car and rolled right up. Put it in gear revved it up and popped the clutch to do my first real burnout with the new tires. I know Nitto's really work better when they are hot. Pull up to the tree, Bring the RPM's up to between 3500-4000 rpm... waited for that third yellow and gradually released the clutch and BOOM!!!! The car didn't move but an inch.

so Tbone runs out to help me (thank you again T, i really cant thank you enough for the help) we push the car off the lanes and all i hear is a deep thump, thump, thump as she is rolling.

we get back to the pits and i jack the car up immediately and look under to find my output shaft snapped in half. A nice smooth break, it honestly looked like it was cut because of how clean of a cut it was. So after several phone calls i was able to find a tow company willing to tow the car 70 miles back down south so i can start my journey of replacing this piece of the puzzle now.

My car is one of the early build VIN's so it looks like i was one of the ones subject to the weak output shafts that were identified in the beginning. So we will see what happens. Wish me luck everyone!

its all just part of the fun, you gotta pay to play and when you add over 200+hp and tq over stock this stuff is bound to happen. So i was lucky it lasted me as long as it did.

                  stay tuned for any updates.

oh for sure, I will bring them regardless of the situation of my car so anyone can try them out. If my car isn't fixed by then i will be bringing my wife's car and running that.

The shop I got them done at closed down about a year ago. I took my car to corpo collision center to get some exterior work done and they sent them out for me. I am actually looking to get them re done as mine have always had a blueish tint to them.

So due to my baby taking a couple trips on tow trucks to get her repaired from the snapped shaft, my front bumper got all scrapped and jacked up so I had paint peeling off.

So I have been doing some research and I have decided that I am going to save up for a ZL1 conversion. Soooooo in the meantime I stopped by Steve @ extreme graphics to help with the situation.

I was stuck between. Carbon fiber or flat black so I started out with carbon fiber due to the weight savings hahaha. Plus its a vinyl sticker which is like a double booster. Well at least for Honda's it is. But here is the current results until I can get the conversion done

Didn't come out too bad for my first attempt but man do I have mad respect for those that do it for a living. Takes a lot of patience.

sent from my galaxy s3. that would explain the errors.
