  • Well I made some progress today...

-found the cause of the oil leak. It was the oil feed line to my turbos. Bolted up to the oil cooler. Not sure how it happened, but it cracked in half and was only holding on by a thread. Removed it and no more oil leak.

-now she is starting hard due to a code of P0335 ( crank position sensor)... and my RPM is not reading either. Heard I might need to have the crank sensor recalibrated. But not sure.

-now when she idles there is no leaks, but there is a knocking/ticking noise from the top end. The car actually is idling very smoothly. Just making noise. So i took valve covers off again and pulled out the junky ARP bolts I had for the rockers. And tried measuring the pushrods with the stock bolts. And it turns out the pushrods are indeed a little too long. So looks like I need new ones for sure.

So i am getting very very close. Just 2 more issues to address and I should be on the road very soon.

Thank you, I'm more then excited.

Even though the CEL was on and she was ticking. It was so good to hear her again. Just a few more days.

                  • Nice!

Since you are running a stock cam, you just need stock length pushrods right?

They said they milled the heads and block a little. So i might need shorter pushrods. But it looks like the stock ones are just fine. I couldn't see them milling enough to cause a difference. Especially since I'm running an ls9 head gasket too.

                      • Just cleaned them up a bit? Then very little change right? You didn't mill them to increase compression right?

No I was lowering compression. I am not really sure why they milled anything. All done without discussing it with me.

                          • They might have milled the surfaces just to make sure they were good to go. Seems to me you'd want to start with stock push rods then or some that were slightly shorter but not by much.

Yeah, I got the stock ones in there now and she is running fine.

Minus the fact I can't see my RPM lol

                              • I can officially say she is back on the road. Man was it good to move her under her own power. Tomorrow is final check on everything and first cruise! So pumped!
