Stretched, loose or just completely severed rod causing plug contact? I hope your CC isn't damaged in a way not noticeable by an external visual check on the valvetrain. The plug is pretty damn close to your valves so, if it's damaged, it's possible they are too.
Can you put your pinky through the sparkplug opening and feel for anything? Pieces of or the whole piston higher than it should be?

I don't think there is a hole in the piston as when it would idle... you could smell gas in both the intake and exhaust. But the oil smells and looks fine. So its not seeping by the piston.
But we are either gonna pull the motor or head tonight..depends on how ambitious I am feeling.lol
sent from my galaxy s3. that would explain the errors.

Hope to hit the 11's later this year. paint should be done in a few days. Then it's on to Stasek for some general service work and back to Speed for some additional trans tuning. Got the 18's bought.
Good luck with your engine. Hopefullty it's something simple.... but I doubt that.L99 to LS3 Conversion, Speed Inc Comp Cam, SLP LT Headers, Corsa Exhaust, Roto Fab CAI, FAST 102 Manifold, Nick Williams 102 TB, FAST Fuel Rails, Yank 3400, 3.91 Gear and TrueTrac, BMR Suspension, Foose Wheels, Heritage Grill

But I know at least one piston/ rod is shot. So i will be forging the motor when i can save up for it. Will be having a lot of stock parts for sale very soon.

Also being a stock valve train, valve float is something i was facing as well. If i have a bent valve then thats probably what lead to it ultimate destruction. But from what i could see the valves we all in place in the springs and looked as if they moved through the whole motion.
But we will see tonight for sure.

Well got to pulling the motor out and the hoist died... :-/ but here's some updated pictures.
This is the manifold on the drivers side. Guess which cylinder has the problem.
Cylinder 7 exhaust valve.

So after the little tear down last night this is where i stand...
heres a current list of all symptoms:
*smell of raw fuel in intake and exhaust - from cylinder 7
*spark plug was smashed - yes this can be cause by overheating and detonation, but the electrode is bent in too which is more of a sign of making contact with something
*very loud and deep knock - hard metal on metal noise (i keep using the example its like a monkey is playing with a big wrench inside my cylinder)
*exhaust manifold shows that cylinder 7 was running leaner or hotter then other cylinders
*slight visual inspection shows valves are seated straight and aren't bent.
*all rockers, pushrods, springs look to be fine
*oil = ok (no metal in it either)
*coolant = ok
So at this point i am really leaning toward i destroyed my ringlands... and possibly a losse ring made contact with the spark plug and is causing the pistong to wobble.
Other things now are
-stretch rods bolts
-boken wrist pin
-melted/deformed piston
- what else?

Hmm, well, I would suggest changing the air in your tires. Sorry, that's all I got, J.sigpic
