I know the feeling.. I still feel guilty about my old car having an explodiated engine as well.

so I got started...

To make it easier to maneuver around i removed the hood and bumper.

We were trying to guess what we thought it was before we started opening things up. We got the valve cover off and saw that all the valves were in place, and everything in the valve train looked good.

We then pulled out the spark plug and noticed that it was smashed closed.

So we are stuck trying to figure out what caused it.... what guesses do you guys have?

How's the oil look like? My guess poss a loose rod, piston tapped the plug ?
