  • Hood Liner

Any suggestions for someone to do an under hood liner? I don't want an OEM liner that is air brushed. I want something rather plain but not the OEM material.

I have always thought Teds mirror hoodliner looks good. ACS makes a hard hoodliner replacement that can be painted. Couple ideas for ya.

Chris at Vengeance Graphix does some great wraps. I believe they are used in conjunction with the ACS hood liner.

I just got mine from them. Still deciding what to do with it. Lots of choices (paint, airbrushing, graphics). Looks good blank too.

Any issues with it staying attached to the hood given its weight? Did you just use the fasteners that come attached to it?

No problems. Just aligned the eight christmas tree connectors and pushed them down. Went back around to each location and made sure they were seated by pushing in each location. I lined up the stock thermal pad that I took off as a template over the new hood liner to help me determine where each christmas tree was located. Does that make sense? Also, there are two tabs at the bottom of the ACS hood liner that need to fit into corresponding slots before you seat the christmas tree connectors.

I'll be driving the Joliet to Pontiac route 66 cruise this Sunday if you want to compare installations.

Here's a picture if you want to zoom in and look closely..... at the hood liner ;-)

Dropped my stock ACS hood liner off to be painted on Friday. Hoping to get it back next Saturday, then I'm immediately heading over to see Steve at Extreme Graphics..... I got an idea he said he's gonna make happen for me.

Hi! I'd like to ask about the ACTUAL hoodliner for a second.....

Is a special paint needed for the ACS hoodliner? I'd like my friends son to paint a design for me. But I wanted to get my facts straight first.

                        Thanks!

From what I understand (and have had done under the hood), regular auto body paint is sufficient. I have engine covers painted with the same paint as is on the body of the car and have had no issues after several years.

Here is my new ACS hood liner as painted by Countryside Customs. They do an amazing job and they are very creative in the designs.

You can call ACS and ask them directly too. The guy that took my order over the phone was very very knowledgeable about all of their products. I sure he could answer this question with certainty.
