  • Still can't decide on stripes

Been going back and forth for 3 plus years on stripes for my car. Hash stripes, hood spears, hockey stripes. Just can't pull the trigger because none of them feel right to me with my car. But...I saw this Mustang with the full length pace car stripes (I think that's what they are called) and I love it. But, not sure how it would look on a Camaro with the raised section of the hood. Even if I do decide to go with the stripes there are factors to consider.
    1) I have a sunroof, so that rules out the roof of the car I would think. right?
    2) Wide or narrow stripes or tapered stripes? Some stripes are wider and extend out past the raised section of the hood. Some are narrower and stay within that center section.
    3) Pinstripe on outer edge, outer and inner edge, or no pinstripe?
    4) Leave my Hex Vents Black or paint them the color of the stripes?

BTW, I am leaning towards Charcoal Grey Stripes, like in the last Mustang picture below. Any opinions? Or should I forget the stripes once and for all lol.

    My car now.

Cool Pace Car stripes on Mustang. I like this exact style (not color though)

This is the Color I like. Charcoal Grey

wide stripes, extending past center section

    or...narrow stripes?

tapered stripes. wider at the top and follows hood lines down as it narrows

Cyber Grey Metallic, or, Showstopper's Gred would be cool!

    Not feeling the tapered...

I like the narrow pace car stripes with the pin stripe on the outside. I think that color would look good on your car

Do I skip the roof, considering there is a sunroof or do stripes up there anyway?

IMHO, seems like roof stripes are a Mustang thing...

Were you thinking paint or vinyl? I think painted stripes look better. Vinyl is cheaper and not permanent, if you change your mind though.

Vinyl would be tough because I don't have a stock spoiler and I also have the Hex Vents. Plus the sunroof. It would have to be a custom Vinyl job if I went Vinyl. No way could I order an off the shelf package. I think paint looks nicer anyway.

I posted that link just because of the different types of stripes. Not recommending anyone or any business.

My .02 worth is wider stripes if you go all the way down the front. Think the wider stripes will look best with the hex vents, and I would paint the hex vents same as stripes. I do like the thinner accent pin stripe around the wide stripes. You might even think of doing the thinner stripe in a different color to accent, or not, either way it will look good. I would leave roof as is, no stripes. The format shown in the picture you posted of the black and orange looks good.

I feel the same about stripes going down the bumper as well.

Find someone that has photo shop, give them pics of your Camaro, and play around with different variations and colors. I've seen amazing stuff done on C5 using this method.
