  • Question about Hex Vents

So I plan on getting the hex vents installed on my Camaro in the spring, I was going to go with the DJGrilles Tomohawk but heard a lot of bad things about fitment/rusting. I heard good things about the hex vents, my only question is what color should I get color matched.

I have a black Camaro with silver stripe package, should I go with all gloss black to kinda offset. Or they do offer silver ice metallic but is this the same color as the stripe? heres the link

2nd picture is the color stripe I have

I would probably lean toward the silver ice to match your stripes. If you go with black, definately gloss to match your paint. One question I would have and I know we have some people in the group that have these vents, but can you cut the hood opening without destroying the stripe. I've removed two sets of the GM stripes and they tear easily when removing them which makes me think they may tear when cuting the opening. Maybe not though. Just something to think about.

Check with bee-otch. He had them, then, dumped them.

MIKEROGS currently has them, I believe. Maybe he'll chime in. A guy in my Central Illinois Camaro club had them installed at CamaroFest two years ago in Indy. Believe he likes them, I've not heard him say anything bad about them that I remember anyway.

There's a option for you as well. Attend CamaroFest next year and get them installed onsite by HexVents themselves.

Ive seen several Camaros that have these vents on the stripes, and seem to have no problem. I would be getting these installed by pete at showstoppers, and I recall, he said as long as it has a lip on the vents/vent the stripe wouldn't fray.
