i changed out my fire wall insulationon the passager side of the car. not easy to do at all. can someone tell me does the insulation go behind the heat sheild that is right by the headers thanks guys. also can you run the car with out the fire insulation.

Yes I have done it, it's really not that difficult, you need to be gentle with it and it will work. it goes behind the heat shield! It gets pressed all the way against the firewall if you are talking about the engine heat shield

THESE ENGINES RUN VERY HOT !! NOT A GOOD IDEA TO RUN THE CAR WITHOUT IT !

Sometimes, if you can't get it the way you want and you don't have a friend close by to help you it's better to say I give and bring it to the dealer and have them do it. I can't imagine they would charge alot to put them in.
