  • What are these stripes called?

    1) The short double stripes that go up and over the front fender, what are they called? (not the hood spears)

    2) Is there a picture of them in red, on a black Camaro?

    3) Would they look dumb on my car with Gary's Vented Fenders and the Hex Vents?

Should I consider it, or forget it?

I guess maybe they are called Hash Stripes? I do see that there are choices too with length on both sides. I like the length of the ones in the picture I included. There are some on EBAY that go past the wheel well lip, but I don't think that looks right. There are some that extend up onto the hood too, but that wouldn't look right with the hex vents. I dunno. Any opinions?

Good question. I believe the hash marks were started in the early '60s on Cobras. They were used by teams to identify multiple cars in the race. The color of the stripes may have identified the driver's nationality?

Today they're put on Vettes, Camaros, and Mopars for styling / appearance. Color choise is for the best accent with the body color.

Actually, they are Le Mans stripes. Used in Le Mans-start races to tell drivers which side the steering wheel was on.

I think it looks good, but that's me. I did remove them but only because color didn't mesh. Replacing with black soon.
My steering wheel is on the left.

I don't recall... is there other red on your car?

with the hex vents, they may be OK with the hashes, you'd almost have to try it. -could try the layout with painter's tape to gauge placement and/or style (but not color, unless you see red painter's tape)

I know the technical use for them is on the one side, but since the camaro isn't a lemans car, I think it may be better to have them on both sides.

My brake calipers are red. Does that count?

Fender hash marks, I've been planning to get mine and waiting for the winter to come to get them put on for a low price [emoji48] here's my idea along with the black hood. Btw painted not vinyl so I can wax it.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1412558486.799929.jpg
