  • Engine Cover Paint Job

I decided to paint my engine cover, nice little weekend project!

I need to clean up some of the edges, paint bled through and what not. Any suggestions on what kind of solution I should use? Im thinkin maybe paint thinner and q-tips.

I'm curious too, what kind of paint did you use? The first time I painted mine all the paint flaked off.

Well I used a engine/heat safe spray paint and did about 4 coats then let it cure for about a week. I wasnt happy though with the stripes so I masked off the middle and just made it all red. I have some minor chipage around the emblem but it looks decent. I think the trick is to give it plenty of time to dry before pulling tape off.
