  • Mods for my summit white w/IOM

Hey- 1st post here and really excited to get some new Camaro friends advice. I have a brand new V6 Summit White with IOM rally stripes- 500miles. I was thinking of painting the calipers but not sure where to start.. I'm also looking into doing some performance mods.. I can afford the parts but have no idea who can install them @ a good price...near New Lenox, IL..... Any ideas?

    Sorry I'm a newbie...

I had mine done by The Powder Pro, out of Woodstock...you'll either need a spare set of calipers, or have your car be out of commission for a week or so....
There's lots of colors available, I'm sure there's something close to IOM

I seen some covers @ carid but the price was alittle high.

the MGP covers are nice, I just thought the calipers looked cleaner smoothed and powdercoated....granted that how I had mine done cost 2x of some of those covers. :/ (~400) but they smoothed and filled the calipers, and added CAMARO lettering...

Depending on what performance mods you want to do, straightline performance is in new Lenox. If its just the basics of a cold air intake and exhaust, you can install the cai and take a trip to deerfield tire for the exhaust install.

Don't lie to the guy. Don't put those covers on your car. Come out and see some of the powder coated calipers, they are worth the cost difference.

I seen straightline performance in the yellow pages but did not read anything about them on the fourms. I have not seen powercoated ones or even the covers so maybe I'll wait till an outing with C5G or a car show... I seen Deerfield all over this site.. it seems they have a great following... I'm been searching exhausts, rims, & CIAs the past week.. Im thinking I'm going to order some very soon... thanks so much...

                      Powdercoating Calipers

I have IOM powdercoated calipers. I did an exchange program with Mike the powdercoater on the C5 forum. He does an excellent job and can do most any color and lettering you want on the calipers. Check him out here: Powdercoated Calipers - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums - Camaro5.com

                      Here's a pic of mine:

As for mods, I first added a cold air intake and then exhaust. Those seem to be the two most popular mods people do to their car. Don't be affraid to ask questions on here, people are very helpful. Also, welcome and great choice in color!

@Fastfreddie..Thanks.. I love black but having had a black car for 12 years before this I understand all the drama of swirls, dust, bird poo, etc..etc.. I love the white and dream of more mods.... my wife will have me on the couch in no time, lol
