Real carbon fiber. I literally paid for mine this morning. I will be the test genii pig for this and report back. They should be here sometime early next week since they shipped this morning.

Here is the link to what I purchased and for the entire kit they charged me $1250 i think. It says 100% grade A carbon fiber.
