Any confirmation for people baking the tails open?

I found reference to one guy that needed 275°F for the headlights.

I'm on the verge of saying that the tails can't be opened by baking. I tried 275° for 10 minutes, as I found reference to for the headlights, and it responds no differently than when it's at room temp.

There's got to be a way, AAC had to have done it some how.

Oh, there's always a way! I am just almost ready to say that baking is not it.

These may be like the DRL/fogs and require slicing.

Guys the tail lights dont bake in the oven. Sorry I have been off the site with work and the inlaws. The lights (lense) gets cut off with a band saw! Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Then the light gets glued back together. It is actually easier than doing the headlights! Call my cell 630-363-5788 and i can walk you through it. It was scary as heck when they busted out the band saw, I was like ohhh stufff. It took 30 seconds and it was done.

Oh, man. Slicing open more of these will not be fun. Lucky this is a test light.

Bah! Looks like we'll need a whole new housing to pull this off right. :damnit:

Because of the internal geometry of the housing, it will need a new outside reflector to bring the light out all the way to the edges. Unfortunately, I don't think that any reflector added could bring the light out properly due to a step in the housing.

Hopefully, I can figure something out.

I'm sure you'll figure out something... It just may take a little longer than you were hoping...

Well, did some more playing. Not as bad as I thought. Maybe there's a shot...

I'm stoked, so I'll do more playing later tonight.
